Went to my dealer on the weekend and spoiled myself. I bought an applique foot and a bridging guide. This is for the hemstitching but I have no idea how it works. There are no instructions with it and I don't see how it attaches to the machine. It is plastic. The manual with the machine says there is a small post that fits into the hole in the needle place but there is no post. I think the clerk gave me the wrong attachment. The label on the pkge. says it is a faggotting guide. They changed to name to be politically correct. LOL. Does anyone know how these things work. MaryW

Don't know how they work, but I just recently bought a gathering foot from Viking and their website had more info on how to use the foot then the packaging did. The dealer did say I could have them show me how to use it if I needed, but when I opened it up to use it the store had already closed. Good thing the web is 24 hours LOL. Leticia |

Mary what is a bridging guide? I have the stitching guide which is an "L" shaped piece of metal that does fit in the hole in the metal piece that screws onto the needle shank that holds the snap on feet. I also have the blind hem foot that has a metal flange in the center that works as a guide for blind hemming, it is also great for doing the stitch in the ditch on quilts but I have no idea what a bridging guide is??? However, all of the feet that came with my Pfaff 2044 and the ones I have purchased have been metal. Some of them have the clear plastic covers on the extended tips. Patsy Patsy

Patsy, I asked for a bridging guide. That is what it is called in my manual. It's for keeping two edges an equal distance apart with the hemstitch. In the manual it says it has a post on the bottom of the guide to insert into the hole in the needle plate. When I asked for it, the clerk gave me a faggoting guide. She said the name was changed because some took offense. LOL. Anyway, it is a little tiny plastic dooie and I think I just figured it out. There is a little button on the bottom that pops into the needle plate. Let me play around a little bit and I will let you know what I end up making. MaryW
