:whacky: one of my ferrets had surgery last thursday. It was a major thing and we were expecting him to be just fine....but yesterday we thought he was gonna die. He quit eating, drinking, walking, he was terribly lethargic. So I call the vet, have to wait to get him in, cry all afternoon, get myself all upset. The vet gives him some medicine and now it's like there was NOTHING wrong with him. This morning he's eating his ferret food, drinking like theres no tomorrow, and he actually played.....I told my husband I was gonna shoot him, just 'cause. I swear when the vet looked at him, there didn't seem to be anything wrong, but he listened and actually took our word for it...I love my ferrets (all 3) but sometimes I wanna wring their little necks....:bang:

I miss mine. They are so much fun to watch! The lady who we bought from warned me about giving them a bath, they would hate it as much as a cat, but mine loved to play in the sink! It was a treat for them to play in the water!
My oldest one died and the little one was so mean you couldn't handle her so we had to give her back. With my little ones running around, I couldn't have a mean one so back she went!
Maybe I'll get me another one day! They are a hoot!

Chrysantha, maybe they needed a nap. LOL. :bg:

Or they wanted attention. Sound like bad kids to me. :bluewink:

Jen,

Maybe the mean ferret was sad because the other one was now gone. Perhaps another ferret would have helped with depression. And to add to the poor ferret's distress, you gave it away without it knowing why. But I can understand about the priority of the little ones' safety, first.

If you ever watch Pet Psychic, you probably would have had the same thoughts about the ferret being depressed. Sonia is unbelieveable!

I have a new kitten, Cricket. And our older cat, Gigi isn't exactly thrilled to see her. The kitten always chases GiGi and sleeps closeby. So, I make a big fuss out of GiGi so she still knows she's the Big Kahuna here, still.

We also have to adapt to new people in our lives-classmates and co-workers. But it could be worse, I guess. At least we don't have to live with them!

Glad to see other people like these critters. My daughter had 5 fuzzies at one time and they were a stitch to watch. She lost a few to adrenal syndrome. Nothing seems to faze them. She has a deaf blaze, but nothing's stopped him yet! You just have to remember you can't yell NO at him - you have to pick him up. How do your cats get along in your sewing room? I keep getting "meezed" Siamese cat who has decided that my ironing board is her domain. She won't move even if I'm trying to use it. Have blasted steam (from a safe distance) at her and no go. I have to really watch the 2 young ones if I have the embroidery machine going. And nothing's safe from the meez. She's like a rash - all over and you can't get rid of her. If she gets too out of hand, we kennel her for her own safety. I just keep everything picked up so she can't get into it.
This cat was raised with ferrets and seems to think she is one at times. She even looks like one except for the blue eyes.

As long as they sleep on the floor or the window sill, I have no problem letting them stay. However, if they get too rambunctious, out they go and I shut the door!

I have to hide the polar fleece in the closet, as they love to sleep on that (it makes a great Christmas gift for anyone's pet, by the way).

And when I'm working on dresses for my business, no pets allowed! I'd hate to sell anything with cat hairs on it. How unprofessional would that look?
