This is to all of you that signed up for the "do not call" law. This week I received a card in the mail that looked all right-- It said "vote for your favorite cola - Pepsi or Coke- and receive a complementary 12 pack" It didn't look suspicious--but for some reason I kept looking at it. THEN I FOUND IT !! At the bottom of the card here is a VERY small statement. It is SO small it is hard to read--but here is what it says----' By completing this form, you agree that sponsors and co-sponsors of this offer may telephone you , even if your number is found on a do not call registry or list " I wondered how they would find a way around that! We have been well informed in our area about what is legal and what is not. Any contact you have with a company gives them the right to call you, even if you are not on 'do not call'. Even calls you make to a company counts. Believe me, I will be a lot more hesitant to call now and ask 'What is the best way to your place from my neighborhood?' . I guess I will use my Atlas built into my computer now.. You know, a free 6-pack of coke offer on a postcard sent to my Mom once took her away from her Long Distance Carrier. Just like you talked about. very tiny fine print..Always be on the lookout for the dirty tricks... Our state attorney general is promoting the 'do not call list'. I think that's pretty cool of him..
