i am begining to really hate that word, we just buried a dear friend of ours, a couple weeks ago and now we get word that another friend whom was 5 years cancer free this summer, has it come back (brain cancer) and now hopes to get a year from chemo but has been told this one is terminal. he has lost most use of his right arm(of course he is right handed) he used to be a lead singer in gospel band that my husband did the lights for and he has a voice of an angel. Karen was only 38 and now Mark is in his early 40's, i hit 40 this month and it sure does make one take stalk of your life. anyways, thanks for letting me rant, i know there is a reason for all this, i wish we could know right now what it is, but i know it doesn't work that way either. |

I feel for you. I also lost very dear friends to this and I find myself looking at life very differently. I take the time to live and enjoy. Courage to you and yours. Lots of hugs going your way. |

geez carmam, isn't life just a great big lesson, you just have to keep getting back up and dusting yourself off, it's tuff, but the big guy made us that way, I'll keep you in my thoughts. turning 41 a few months back, i understand what your saying, you tend to take stalk of everyone and everything around you.(((HUGS)))

Yes, cancer seems to be everywhere these days. Many members of my little quilt group have lost their mothers this year. My husband's co-worker had breast cancer, and now it has spread. I believe she's in her 40's. It's very sad. |

Cancer is such a dreaded word. Everyone in my family on my father's side died of cancer and my mother's brother died of cancer. We live in the cancer corridor of Louisiana with oil refineries everywhere you look. I personally live between two of them and the reek of petroleum will make you sick sometimes. They try to say it's not the refineries that are causing lots of people here develope cancer but I suspect different. After seeing my loved ones die from cancer I've learned to dread hearing the word too. |
