Does anyone do crewel work? I love it. I have a Welcome picture to finish up. I was going to hang it in our front foyer but now I think I will finish it for my son's girlfriend. She is so good to my grandkids, she deserves to have it.

I do both crewel and thread embroidery. Both have been eclipsed by cross stitch, so it's hard to find kits or designs and I'm just not good at designing my own or picking colors. They seem to be alive and well in Australia and New Zealand and I recently got some magazine issues from Australia with beautiful projects and lots of ads for supplies. Now I just need to surf those companies' sites to see what is available and who will ship to the US. Please put a pic of your work in the gallery when it's finished. |

I used to do a lot of crewel when i was in my teens and twenties, bought kits like fabric! But I got busy with job, child, single parenting, etc. and haven't done any in many years. I'm actually thinking of a design to use on a blue corduroy nursing dress (an Elizabeth Lee design). Lisa |
