Celebrate with me! My 16 year old daughter has her GCSE results - she was hoping for 5 'C's to get to the college she wants to go to - she got 8 'B's, 3'C's, and A and an A* whoo hoo! She has been so stressed with worry it's great to see her relaxed again. She wants to study Pschology,Sociology, Music and Media Studies to 18 them go to college and do Psch. or Soc. before becoming a Policewoman. She sure is focussed! I don't know if I'm crying or smiling Thanks God, love and kisses, Jan

Congratulations to both of you, Jan! Your daughter worked hard to accomplish that but you worked hard instilling a solid work ethic into her. That is fabulous news! Jill |

I am blessed with lovely teenagers. One thing we have always been strict on is 'your word is your bond.' If you have said you will do something you are committed. The eldest once said to me " but you can't get out of a promise, unless you are dead." I think she got the message ( she was 8) This has a knock on effect in many walks of life. The hardest one has been teaching them it is OK to say "No" to adults say if they want you to babysit and you want to go out. But it does mean homework gets done, ( part of the home school agreement) I'm on time or if not I contact you to let you know where I am, you can rely on me. Fab!

I missed this thread completely. Magot, congrats on such super marks. Your daughter should be very proud of herself.
