some of you asked for an update on my sister-in-law...thank you for asking...It's an inoperable tumor...they gave her two options, wait and watch it grow, and 'maybe' they can get some of it, or have radiation now....she has a BIG decision to make in the next week....they think shes been having small strokes too....she just turned 40 in June. Luckily her kids are grown (18 and 21) and she doesn't have to worry about that....I don't know what to do or say, so I'm making her a quilt to take to the hospital, or just to snuggle in if she needs it....

Just being there for your SIL is the best thing you can for her along with prayer. What is your SIL's name and I'll add her to my prayer list. The quilt is a great idea. I've heard cancer patients say it's like being hugged when they wrap the quilt around them. Patsy Patsy

Something that may be faster and just as cozy is a large piece (about 2 yards) of fleece, with blanket stitching around the edges as a finishing touch. My sister gave one to my daughter for Christmas in Barbie fabric and she loves it! I bought fleece for some other project but it eventually ended up as a a cozy bed for the cats. They absolutely love it and do not like each other on their blankies. The third piece I bought for my own exercise/cozy blanket and it's so comforting and warm and I can take it to the beach for colder weekend weather. |

Chrys, I'll say a prayer for your SIL. The quilt is a good idea. I'm sure it will mean alot to her. Probably more than words right now. I know how you feel. I never know what to say to my SIL that's sick now either. |
