Our bloodhound, Chloe, has not been seen since Wednesday. In the past she was ALWAYS with the 2 older dogs that are here, so it's not like her to go off by herself. She could usually be found on the front porch. We've looked all around the neighborhood and called several people. No one has seen her. She wasn't wearing her collar because my son took it off of her when she had surgery recently, and we didn't get it back on her. Wouldn't you know it. I just paid a large vet bill and now she's gone. Hubby is convinced that someone took her. It's fairly common around here for hound dogs to be stolen this close to hunting season. We're putting up missing posters with her picture in a little while. Any other suggestions? My son is heartbroken. |

Did you try Checking with the local vets (hard to think maybe she got hurt). Putting an announcement on the local radio (we have a special segment for that) Checking with animal control (ie the pound) or with the humane society. Hope you find you dog. Sherri My website

Did the dog come home? Sometimes they wander, til they get hungry. I'd get in touch with a local radio station to put an announcement out there for you...just a thought. |

Is there a special place where hunters go? Such an inhumaine way to catch some animal. Maybe your hubby and about 3 of his bigggest friends could go to those areas-or let the county sheriff know about the theft of your dog. Maybe the animal is somewhere in the neighborhood already, being fed by someone who thinks the animal has wandered off from his family. Keep us updated, okay? |

She's still missing. We put up posters at area stores and at the 2 local vet offices. I haven't been able to reach the humane society. I'm not sure when they're open. It's not local, but I thought just in case..... We live in a rural area so there's alot of places here that people go hunting. Even a couple of hunting clubs. I'm going to spread the word to all the hunters that we know, in case someone sees her. It makes me mad to think she might have been stolen, but I guess that would be better than if she was hurt or killed. Hubby warned me when my sister gave her to us, that some low life around here might steal her. After all, she's worth a good deal of money, and would make a great hunting dog. We tried keeping her in a large pen, but she kept climbing out. She's very smart, but a little too friendly. I can imagine her jumping into someone's truck. I'm sorry, but I don't like the hunters around here that use dogs. We've had too many hound dogs show up here hungry and exhausted after getting lost from a hunting trip. Last year one showed up with bloody feet. I gave it some dog food and called the owner since his number was on the tag. He picked it up the next day and didn't even say thank you. He grabbed the poor dog by the collar and threw it into a cage in his truck. Thanks for the suggestions. Unfortunately we don't have a radio station anywhere close to here, but I'm putting an ad in the paper. |

so sorry about your dog Bama but don't give up. If your dog gets loose it may find it's way back home. My thoughts are with you. I know how hard this is on your family. I've decided to live forever - so far, so good.

Can you imagine what kind of man that would be like to be married to? He needs a tough, biker woman to teach him some manners... |

No luck. My son searched all the surrounding woods and we drove around all the roads here just in case she had been hit by a car, but we didn't find her. We still think someone took her. We miss her. I get so attached to our pets. It's like losing a member of the family. Not knowing what happened is the worst part. Heaven forbid that anything happen to one of my cats. I wouldn't be able to go to work. They're our babies. |
