Hi me again lol,
Just need to know about grainlines, is the length grainline non stretchy and the cross grainline stretchy??
i dont know how to tell.

Im asking because i bought about 3 metres of fabric from a charity shop it was in a bargain basket.
So how do i tell which is the grainlines????

Yes Angie the cross grain is stretchy and the straight is non-stretchy.

And if that fabric still has its selvages, the lengthwise grainline is parallel to the selvage.

In woven fabrics the difference in stretchiness may be so minimal it's hardly noticeable. But it will make a difference in how the fabric drapes in a garment.

Now i can rest lol.
Well most of my fabrics are bought from charity shops and they dont have the selveges on them, so i just needed to be sure that i was doing it right.
