I am soo excited. My teflon ironing board fabric got delivered yesterday, (nancy's notions was the only place I could find it, anyone else know a place?) SO, I am FINALLY going to make an ironing board cover that will ACTUALLY FIT my ironing board. I have one of the fat ones, and none of the covers ever fit them properly. Anyone else ever make their own?

As a matter of fact I just did. My wife has this over sized board and we couldn't find a cover to fit. I have about 30 yards of tan denim, used for deck cloth, left from my Upholstery days and made up a cover. Worked out well. I just cut it out with about 5-6" overhang and sewed in a draw string. Works like perfection. I never thought to but teflon fabric.

I make my own all the time. Fusible gluck gets all over mine. I have had the teflon covers, but I find them way too hot. I make mine out of 100% cotton decorator fabrics. A new one always looks so nice.

Mary,
Do you make a padding in your cover, or do you have a separate pad under the cover?
Take care,

Mine is separate, just the size of the top of my board. The cover is about 6" bigger around with an elastic casing that pulls it perfectly snug.
