Hi there ! My name is Sasha . I am trying to help to a friend of mine who is a sewing machine mechanic but he came in America one year ago and he doesn't know how to look for this kind of job . He lives in Detroit MI . He doesn't know very well English but knows a lot for the sewing machines . He has more than 15 years professional experience . Give me some advise, please. It's not a good idea to put phone numbers online where the public can see them. It's better to have them send you e-mail privately, THEN give them a phone number that way. Has your friend gone to the sewing shops (with maybe a friend to help with english) and left applications ??? What about local employment offices ??? What about friends in Detroit who can ask around about employment ??? What about english classes at night for adults ??? Chrys

He could probably work for fabric stores by referral or put up a notice in stores and have people come directly to him. He will need some help to translate to be sure he and the customer understand what the machine needs and what he can do. If I lived there I'd bring him my 80 year old Singer to repair. |

Hi again . You are just great! And so willing to help! I appreciate your support! He has a job ,but love to repair machines. It is something as a passion for him. When I called him to see my commercial machine he was so happy and he did not did it for money . I just needed to know were he has to begin from. He knows some English .He understand. It is hot easy to him to speak. I'll try to help him but I am not sure in my English to , specially if I nave to speak for parts of machines . Thank you so much! |
