Does anyone make their own shoulder pads? I am going to make mine for the Kimono Jacket. They are for a set in sleeve so won't be too difficult at all. Let me know if there are any secrets or easy steps for these.

Mary, The shape is the standard shape, similar to a triangle with all rounded points and softer lines... Cut two of fleece full size for each pad and 2 smaller by about 1 inch on triangle point edges(the part that goes nearest the neck.. Then, cut a shape on the fold and also on bias that is a scant same size as the larger of the fleece.. Sandwich smaller fleece inside larger fleece, then cover with fabric, (fold goes on shoulder edge) and serge on all but folded side.. Voila, one finished shoulder pad..Easily made in 10 minutes, (first one, after that, each in less than five minutes.. If you don't have fusible fleece or something similar, use sweatshirt fleece or whatever youhave on hand that is washable.. I make them all the time for my T-shirts that I make 'cause I'm a little round-shouldered...Years ago , Shirley Adams gave these instructions on one of her programs.. I've probably got it on tape... Maps, that is too funny. Done it too. LOL. Libby, that's how I figured, graduated fleece layers. Thanks. I place my fold just beyond the edge by a fraction of an inch. Just preference I guess. MaryW

Yes, I was afraid if I tried to explain that part, I would confuse you.. I was going to say, 'give the underside a little extra tug to help with the shaping'. But, what you did, gives the same result..
