With everything else that is going on here and abroad, I am not really surprised that no one has mentioned these two well-known men, who both passed away on the same day.

I think that with Johnny Cash, it was somewhat expected as he had been ill for some time. He was an icon in the music world, and had a great impact on the lives of a lot of people.

The death of John Ritter was a shock...he was too young, and it was so sudden. After seeing his face so many times on TV, one almost feels a personal connection. He was such a funny guy, especially on Three's Company...he made all that physical comedy look so easy.

Wow, it's hard to believe they're gone...
Take care,
Donna

Donna,

I feel like a grew up watching three's company and my children and I both love 8 Simple Rules. I watched a bio of him on TV last night and cried. Its a shame someone who brought so much joy to the world should have their life cut so short!

Lori,
I watched that Bio last night also.. I was a fan of his father's also.. I go back to late 30's and early 40's when kids went to double features on Saturdays and everybody was a cowboy fan..
Gene Autry, Tex Ritter, Roy Rogers, Lash LaRue all were our stars back in those days.. John Ritter was a great talent and he will be missed.. Johnny Cash had been so ill, his death was not so shocking.. He was also a very great talent..

I'm glad I'm not the only one who cried about John Ritters death.
I thought I was nuts, it's nice not to be alone...It WAS so shocking because he was so young and we saw him on t.v. 24 hrs a day on different channels. What a terrbile loss for his family, friends and castmates....

Johnny Cash wasn't as much of a surprise, but still it's also a terrible loss for his family and friends....
