I have just begun putting my items into children's store on consignment. Many times owners want to see all of my fabric options. I need to make a swatch display that is inexpensive yet looks professional. Any suggestions?

2" swatches stapled together on the back of a calling card might work. Cut them with pinking shears.

Just had enough time to sit down and read some posts. Meant to do so for a moment, but I end up lingering.
Anyway, it may help you to go to .

http://www.patternshowcase.com/

Heather Claus has a template download there for making a swatch set to carry along when in fabric shops, classes, et al...

This is a d/l [pdf] imprinted card template, which holds much information such fiber content, washing instructions, yardages on hand, when/ where purchased and anything else you may wish to add.
Simply glue a swatch sample to one side, and note your info on the other. You can then punch a hole in the card and insert each on a large keyring, since the glue from attaching the swatch will keep them stable.
It's a terrific help to have on hand in your purse- car when shopping, locating a p0attern and trying to determine what you have or if you need added or contrast fabric, etc...

Hope this may help.

Can you give the directions on finding the download on patternshowcase? I found that a downloadable form is included IF you order the fabric swatch kit, but could not find a free download for the form.

Thanks

Hi Melanie, Sorry for the late reply.
I went to the site and encountered a similar problem. I THINK you must sign up for the PSC newsletter to access this, which is probably in the member area.

I'm looking for my disk of saved pdf, then can send you the direct link to it. I will first try to see whether I have a problem accessing it on disk, signing into my computer under a different name. If still encountering the same problem, I'll mail you a disk and hard copy of the pdf.

I'll probably be back on tomorrow [Friday] or Sat- Sun. Had my first class last night, and another tonight. So I need to get acclimated into the school thing, then go out tomorrow for more art supplies. Then Sat is a patternmaking seminar at a local fabric store, for which I signed up.

So, DEFINITELY will get back before the end of the week-end.

FYI: the swatch set you saw [I too brought it up] is not the same as the instructions & template cards for your own.

I'll get it to you w/in the next few days, if not earlier.
