Hello.. I am really confused.. i am looking for a sewing machine that actually works for me and not just my husband, I currently have a Nicchi, i belive that is how it is spelled, and I hate the machine, it only works for my husband. I will do the same thing as he does and something always breaks, the thread, the needle, you name it, then DH sits there and the machine acts perfectly, so the solution is, I get a new machine and DH gets the Nicchi So, my question is what machine do you use, and how does it work for you.My father has a janome 9000 i believe and i love it but i cannot afford that one right now, so any help you have would be wonderful.. I would also love to chat with new people feel free to message me.. Carin. Scobby Doo, Where are you??

Everyone will have a prefference. The Janomes and the Brother machines have been rated as the easiest by consumers. Janomes have alot of machines in differt price ranges. They are great work horses. I agree The 9000 is awesome. they have teh 9500 that just came out for 2500.00 it is to have the best of both the 9000 and the 10000. it is a fun machine I have played on it recently. They also have the quilting machines that have decorative stitches and utility stitches. Check out the website at www.Janome.com and then take a test drive on the mahcine of choice at your local dealer. Janome also make the Kenmore line at sears and the Craftmaster line that is for internet sales only. Your dealer might charge more but you get more from the dealer. You get class and support and also they are usally running an incentive to purchase. Some times it is an assortment of threads or a machine bag. The more you disaprove, the more fun I am having!

The machine YOU like the best is the best machine.... test drive them all..they all have pro's and con's....remember it's easier to buy the biggest/easiest/most upgradeable you can afford, than to be stuck in a year needing another machine because you've outgrown the one you'ev got..(unless you're wealthy..then buy them all ) also remember it's not only the machine, it's all the extras you need to go with it....(or all those " gotta have it's") Chrys

I do not mean to be a kill joy, but if you have trouble with a machine that someone else uses with no trouble, then where are you and this other person different?? Do you refuse to read instructions?? That is usually the man's failing , not the ladies. Ha.. Seriously, there has to be a reason you have trouble with the machine if he does not.. But if it will get you a new machine, go for it.. You cannot beat a Janome, but I will tell you now, you will have to read the instructions..and take the free lessons also..

I have to agree with Libby. When you say your needles and thread are breaking I can't help but wonder if you are trying to pull the fabric through your machine instead of letting the feeddogs do their job. Before you buy something new I would take your husband with you to your test drives. Have the sales person watch both of you sew. Maybe they can see the difference. Gina
