Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knew the laws regarding using brand name jeans and jean jackets (like Old Navy, Gap, etc.) that I purchase at consignment stores to embellish and cut to make girls clothing. I always cut their label out, but on the snaps, it sometimes has the brand name...
I want to sell over the internet, and get a business license, but I don't want to start off by breaking laws!!!!
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

What a good question. I have no idea what the rules are. Really, you are selling used clothing refurbished. I wouldn't think that would cause a problem.

What do you girls think?

With so many retro shops and things I dont think it is a problem because all the salvation army places and Good will would have problems. I mean you are not selling knock offs. it is there product that was purchased righfully. You are just adding your creativity to it.
The more you disaprove, the more fun I am having!

You probably have a marketable idea for eBay. However, I don't think you'd be able to put your label on the garment and most people would want the label. Otherwise, consignment shops that cater to children's garments might be interested in your design ideas.

Thank you oliviajane for your question!

With my full time job, trying to start a sewing business, life,....I HAVE to use an organizer/calendar to keep things in order. I have used Dayplanners® and Dayrunner® in the past and found that they don't always offer the insert options that I am looking for.

I bought a three ring binder which I covered the outside in a pretty print and had my initials embroidery on the inside I created a pocket for my Palm Pilot and a zipper pouch for pens, pencils... and then on the computer I created a calendar, a workout log, address book, finances, sketch pad...the things that I need.....

but the Binder, Avery® business card holders, Calendar Creator®....are all brand name stuff I bought for my creation. I know these would sell well on consignment in our local shops, but I am unsure if I would be infringing on some sort of laws. If anyone knows, please advise. Thank you.
