I complained to HGTV.ca because Carol Duvall was not on the fall line-up. They responded by confirming they are not carrying this show in Ontario, not sure about rest of Canada. They said they have passed my complaint onto the programming department because they use complaints and suggestions in their decisions. So, if anyone else wants to see Carol Duvall on HGTV in Ontario/Canada, please email them at www.HGTV.ca.

The whole point of watching HGTV is for the crafting, decorating, gardening, etc. And I enjoy that show as much as Room-by-Room and Designing for the Sexes.

Do you have access to Satellite Dish? Maybe you could pick it up that way. That's the problem with doing businness with a Monopoly like the cable, electric or water company.

No, we don't have satellite. We just invested in digital cable boxes two years ago and hate to waste the money we spent on them. Not much I can do but what I did - complain!!!

Here where I live, we get Carol 2 times a day on HGTV.. 9 am ET
and 11:30 am ET.. and of course she comes on at 1:30 pm ET on DIY between Susan Khaalje and Simply Quilts.. I guess we're lucky.. I thought the HGTV network carried same thing everywhere..

Wish it did LeapFroglibby but HGTV has a USA and a Canadian version and as ususal the Cdn. network is the weaker of the two. They say they carry what the general public wants to watch but I don't think so...I think it's $$$$$. Most of what HGTV in Canada is rerun after rerun of the same decorating show. Bummer!and we don't get DIY either.
:bluesad:
Oh well, at least they left us with Simply Quilts.:bg:

You know, I never cared for Carol Duval's show anyway. I like her, but I never liked the projects she showed.

I use all craft demos as starting places for my thoughts on what to make next, or decorate next, or whatever.. I almost never do anything exactly like any of the demos, but if I don't watch, how will I know how to do the burnout velvet for example.. or how do you treat polymer clay...And , when I found a bargain on plain white silk scarves a few years ago (all plain white).. I made beautiful abstract silk scarves as Christmas gifts for about 10 friends and relatives.. for less than $45.00... Because I had learned the painting (or dyeing) technique from a guest on Carol's show..Most all of my gifts have a hand made touch somewhere... I love sewing, beading, painting, ceramics, all of them appeal to me...

We all have different lifestyles. There is no best way to live your life, just what is.

Can you imagine what a boring world it would be if we all lived exactly alike? This is my opinion only, but I think the acceptance of all of the diverse opinions and lifestyles that we all have and share with one another here in our little corner of cyber world is what makes this such a neat place to visit and become a part of.

I tell you what I would love to learn. There is a girl who is on the show regularly. I think she works with polymer clay. She showed some of the most fantastic buttons she made. Really very beautiful. I can't remember how it was done, but they were really great.

Mary I don't like Carol Duvall either. Well her show at least. I thought I was the only one.

I bet all of y'all are right handed.... I'm a leftie, and you know we are supposed to be creative and artistic... Ha.. My sister does not like crafts either.. She would rather buy whatever she wants.. I enjoy creating...Gives me the warm fuzzies..... Wish you could see the Christmas ornaments we made today in beading class.. What fun.. and my grands are gonna love them on their tree this year..But you know, seriously God knew what he was doing when he made us all different.. Think how bored we would be with each other if we were all alike.. I treasure diversity... :bg:

Sometime Carol Duvall does some interesting things but for the most part, she does artsy craftsy things that make go duh??? what in the world would you do with that??? Now Alex Anderson, that's my girl. However, when she has those people that do those strange art quilts, I'm not too interested but, of course, I only get to watch those things when I'm home sick during the day. And Libby, I'm left handed.

Well, I guess I liked her show because I am a multi-crafter, not multi-talented :bg: , just a multi-crafter, and I enjoyed all the different guests she had on that gave me lots of ideas and inspiration...some were a bit off the wall though, I will admit that. However, like prlegal says, some of Alex Anderson's guests have quilts that make me shake my head at too...although her show is probably my favorite of all the craft/sewing shows, along with Sewing with Nancy.
Oh well, no use crying over spilt milk or cancelled carol...no time for that...I have quilts to make, clothes to sew, paintings to paint, beads that need beading, clay that needs modeling....etc. etc.

Patsy,
OK , you are a lefty.. and you are laughing and saying artsy, craftsy... are you trying to tell me quiltmaking is not creative... ???
Ha.. Is the one about the three bears next ??? Of course you are creative.. Just not in the same direction as 'some' of the rest of us..:bg: :bg:
