So it's fall now and we have more time to sew.
What is everyone working on?
What was your most recent finish and what's next in line?

I'm finishing up a pair of twill pants, I just finished a great kimono style jacket out of batik rayon and am getting ready to start a fleece jacket for my husband. Nothing exciting -- just fall necessities.

I just finished a hooded sweater for my husband and a skirt and top for myself. I think I'll start a dress for myself next. I also have lots of things to make for Christmas. ( I'd like to have them done early for a change instead of the day before Christmas like I usually do!)

Dorothy, what pattern did you use for your kimono style jacket? I would love to make one. I think I've seen a pattern in Simplicity. Is the batik rayon very expensive?

My latest was a simple shirt with spaghetti type straps. The next thing I want to work on is Christmas gifts, decorations, etc. Like someone said earlier about getting started early, that's what I want to do.

Lovemyfabric --

I used the Simplicity pattern. It was super quick and easy -- one day project.
The fabric, on the other hand, is not so quick and easy. Several times I bought this beautiful batik fabric on the internet from some nice ladies in Canada -- wonderful product, great service and really good prices. But now they only sell wholesale. Mary told me about an internet company that is going to sell it retail but I haven't had a chance to check if they have it yet. I'll let you know if I find it. I'm sure the price will be higher but it is great stuff.

Finished a quilted jacket that is just gorgeous, all in fall colours; might make another one in red tones. Altered pants that I bought at Winners (cheaper to buy than to make). Still working on dad's quilt. I think one more month of quilting should do the trick and he'll get it for Xmas.

I am working on Christmas gifts, I made a cute ladybug and daisy quilt top and am finishing up a trip around the world with stars for a charity auciton. I ordered batting for six quilts the beginning of September and as soon as it comes it i'll machine quilt them both. Then both my DH, DS and Niece want quilts. I have a jacket and pants to make for me and a tablerunner for the holiday's. My machine is going everynight after dinner and on the weekends. My New years resolution is to make things for me. I have several jacket patterns and things I want to try ...I always put my stuff and next year I'm going to do for me!

Hi all!
I just love it when everyone shares their wears! The last item I finished was a moleskin skirt. I had a matching vest done before spring and wore it a few times with jeans, but just never got the skirt done before it felt too warm to wear.
I presently have 2 pairs of dress slacks in the works and may get those finished Thursday, a plaid fleece jacket without any lining. I'm a little anxious about that as my last two fleece projects (a short jacket and vest) had flaws and I just wear them outside for chores. The problem was in the interfacing and hopefully, I have that conquered. I used an indigo tencel as the undercollar and facing for this jacket and interfaced tencel with so-sheer. That flawed jacket fit real nice and I'm using the same pattern, just longer over the bottom end this time and adding seam pockets not in the pattern.
Thanks for sharing!

2 pairs of socks finished, I'm now knitting gloves - I plan to knit a moebius strip scarf as well for the challenge! (you know a moebius strip is a loop with a twist in it, so the scarf lays flat under a coat - the challenge is that you knit it in one go with no sewing up - just keep knitting on the one edge with a reversable stitch)
