Does anyone have any meal ideas? It seems like I make the same things week after week. I would like to try making something different for a change.

Have you tried the Kraft website? If I'm not mistaken, they do have recipes and a mailing list for weekly recipes.

Bread Bowl Stew or Chili is good.

Make a large round bread bowl. This is just your regular bread recipe baked in a bowl.

Slice off the top and carve out the insides leaving about 1" around the outside edge. Fill with your favorite stew, soup or chili. Serve immediately!

When I want a day off from cooking it's eat out or make my husband cook...(of course he was a restaurant cook when I met him and he likes to cook....that makes THAT easy :bg: )

how about....calif tuna noodle bake....I'm not sure of the porportions, because it can make a little or a lot, depending on how much you need/want....

1-2 cans of tuna drained (water packed)
1-2 cans of mushroom soup
1-2 cans of milk
celery (chopped)
onion (chopped)
pasta (any of the spiral, shells, elbows, shapes of any small kind,cooked and drained)
olives (you can use either black or green) sliced
1-2 pkgs of cream cheese (3oz)
salt and pepper to taste

mix it all in a pot or oven proof dish, bake for 30 min at 375. (stir once during cooking to mix the melting cheese)
if you want more spice, add some thyme...

We have this alot on the weekends or when I don't feel much like cooking....

Place sliced ham from the deli onto sliced hoagie buns. Sprinkle with mozzerella cheese. Place tops on buns, brush with garlic butter, and toast til lightly browned. Cut each sandwich into 4 or 5 pieces. Serve with warmed spaghetti sauce or pizza sauce for dipping them. Sometimes I make them with meatballs or canadian bacon. Serve with a salad for a quick meal.

Take about 4 to 6 boneless chicken breasts and wrap each one with a piece of uncooked bacon. Place in a greased casserole dish. Mix together a can of Campbell's *Golden* mushroom soup and about a half a cup of sour cream and pour over chicken. Bake til chicken is done. YUMMY.
A friend of mine told me about this recipe. She also places dried beef underneath the chicken, but I prefer it without it.

I've been meaning to try it in the crockpot. It should work. Hmmmm.... maybe one night this week.

My favorite is reservations. :bg:

Betty Crocker also has a website with TONS of recipes - they even have a search where you can make things you have on hand, and don't need to shop for. I use it every now and then when it's my turn to cook, lol, or when I get tired of dh's tuna casserole!

Pita bread, spread salsa over it and add topping of your choice and some cheeze. Put in over until cheeze is melted.

I love artichokes hearts, olives and chicken.

Look in your Sew Whats New Cookbook .. Its full of great recipes... If you do not have one, maybe Mary has some left... Some great recipes there...:bg: :bg:

My favorite:
Grilled Tarragon Chicken

2 whole chicken breasts, skinned, boned
2 Tablespoons onion, grated
1-1/2 teaspoons dried leaf tarragon
2 teaspoons soy sauce (try to use low-sodium kind)
1 large garlic clove, minced
2 tablespoons white rice vinegar

In a aluminum pan, cover bottom and up the sides with aluminum foil. Lay in chicken, flat. Blend together all the other ingredients in a bowl and spread over the chicken. Cover the pan and contents with another piece of foil. Pinch together edges of foil.
Let sit in frig a couple of hours to marinate.
Get grill with hot coals. Put aluminum foil package on grate cook about 30 minutes. Open foil up ummmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Need a quick, one bowl recipe for a good bar cookie? Try this one - it's called Congo Bars.

Melt 1 1/2 sticks margarine in a microwave safe bowl. Try not to get it too hot - just melted. Dump in a 1 lb. box of light brown sugar and stir 'til blended. Break in 3 eggs and stir until blended well. Next add 2 3/4 cups flour, 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Stir 'til blended. (This makes a thick batter - no mixer - just hand power!) Add 1 cup of chocolate chips and 1/2 cup of chopped pecans (optional). Stir 'til blended. Spread into a 13 X 9 pan (ungreased - your batter has enough fat in it!) and bake for 25 - 30 minutes at 350 (metal pan) or 325 (pyrex dish).

You can substitute butterscotch chips or peanut butter chips if you prefer. Maybe this should be called "stir to blend". I've been making these for probably 35 years. Our girls loved them when they were growing up and they were so simple to make, they quickly learned to make them by themselves. Of course, at that time you used one pan (no microwave). We still make them frequently - especially when the GKs come! They love them, too.
