All of a sudden I've been having problems sewing the ends of elastic together. Actually it has been about a year, since I got my new machine, a Viking Lily. What am I doing wrong? On my old Viking I used the same needle I was sewing with, same thread, stitch etc. Sometimes I will wrap the ends with fabric and stitch thru all layers with the same results. What is happening I get a nest of thread and the joining is very loose and doesn't hold. I hold the threads for the first few stitches and that doesn't even help. Any suggestions?
BTW I just used DD machine and didn't have any problems sewing the elastic. She has a Walmart Brother.

Hi I have had the same trouble on differnt types of elastic. it is usally the needle pushing a strand of elastic into the bobbin area. I have the trouble when My universal needle is getting dull.
The more you disaprove, the more fun I am having!
