It's almost that time again.......:bluewink:

My daughter and I have been looking for Christmas ornament or craft ideas to make. It has become a tradition with us to make more ornaments/decorations each year.
If anyone has seen any new ideas, please post about it.

I have in the Sew News Holiday edition Sew up for the Holidays. there is a bunch. they are bringing back the cookie cutter ornaments. and if you have an embroidery machine there is a site that has free standing angel ornaments.
The more you disaprove, the more fun I am having!

Bama,
I just finished a Shepherds Center session of classes and I had a 'beading class'. We had an instructor who teaches at Michaels..
She taught us how to make some great ornaments in one of our classes.. If you have a Michaels, check out when they have a class.. You and your Daughter could go for one class and then wing it after that.. I have made a lot more than she taught us, just by reading the instructions... Its great fun and the major tool you need is a pair of needle nose pliers that will also cut wire..I am making a lot of ornaments with the Grands this year.. Its addictive, kinda like quilting or sewing..Oh, and another great gift idea, those markers for stemware.. Several lucky people are getting sets of those for Christmas..We just got our first Hobby Lobby stores and they have great supplies for beading also.. Boy, are their fabrics expensive ?? Beading stuff was very reasonable though..:bg:

Thanks ladies.:bluesmile

Aimee, I checked out the Sew News site and found a free pattern from the Holiday issue for mini tree ornaments that's so cute. I'm going to WalMart later, so I'll look for that magazine.

Libby, We made some beaded icicles last year, so we have the pliers and some left over wire and beads. Hopefully we'll get a chance to get to Michael's soon.
I hadn't thought about making the little markers for stemware. I saw some for sale last year and they were pricey. Hmmmm... would make a nice gift for our neighbors.

Raine,
Allie likes the dove ornament. After we looked at it, I thought we might try using a paper doiley for the wings.:bluesmile

Thanks again.:bluesmile
