Hi,

I have to remove the waistband from a pair of dress pants because they are too high on the waist. Can I just sew a piece of grosgrain ribbon on the waist and turn it under and topstitch it in place? I do this on skirts all the time instead of a waistband, but have never done it on rtw pants.

I don't see why not, as long as you make adjustments for the raw ends, etc. I think it's a great idea.
