Hi I am new to this group, but am hoping someone can help me. I took a sewing class last spring so I understand some of the basics. I had a pair of jeans that I needed altered and it was a bigger project then I thought I could handle, so I took them to a seamstress. I had 5 other pairs altered as well and they all came out great. The one pair of jeans though is now too small in the waist. I do not think she was going to take the waist in on those pants, but was doing so on all my others. I did not know if there is anyway I can just fix it myself or do I take them back to her? If I do do it my self do I just take out the seam on the side? Thanks for your help. -Lisa |

Hi Lisa and welcome to Sew Whats New. Working with jeans can be hard, so much bulk and topstitching to repair. I have seen where people take the side seam apart and insert a wide elastic gusset in the waistband. It didn't look too bad. MaryW

Lisa - I have an alteration and tailor shop in town. Please take them back to her. A good seamstress would much rather have you bring them back and let her correct the mistake (at no charge). Rhonda
