i am trying to add material to an elastic waist skirt, but if i sew it straight obviously my cotten isnt elastic how do i sew on to elastic and wot do i use or is there a nother way of doing it can anybody make any suggestions please its for my halloween costume :nc:

Hi Buffalogirl, welcome to Sew Whats New. :bluesmile

If you need to add fabric to the front and back of your skirt, it has to be taken apart first and the elastic taken out of the casing. Then sew a panel of fabric to both front and back including a casing or tube for the elastic.

Then put your elastic back in.

I hope you can understand what I am trying to say.
