Being in Alaska, I am limited to fabric selections.... I am in search of good mail order catalogs for fabrics, quilting supplies, sewing notions etc....
Can you suggest/recommend some?

Thanks!

Vogue Fabrics By Mail

Both will, for a fee, send swatches.
I look at the swatches but order on line from Fashion Fabrics.
Vogue is one of my favorite things on earth -- right up there with good wine and chocolate. They send wonderful swatches about every 6 weeks. And when you call you talk to a real person who loves and knows about fabric so they can answer questions.
for me it's worth the $30 ($10 credited with first purchase) fee.

I got all my fabric here while we were stationed in Germany. They have really expanded their inventory to include a notions and patterns too. Plus they ship Priority Mail which was a plus for us overseas.

Hi,

Keepsake quilting is a neat catalog. It has lots of different fabrics and some notions. Even if you aren't a quilter it is worth the look. Also Nancy's Notions is a good catalog too.

I use Nancy's Notions, Clotilde and Atlanta Thread for many notions. Nancy's and Clotilde handle many of the home based and up and coming notions. Atlanta Thread has a lot of hard to find items and items used by professionals in all aspects of the clothing industry (from drycleaners to home seamstress to professional tailors.) You live in a wonderful and beautiful state! Hope we can lend a hand from time to time!!

I also live in an area that doesn't have allot for me in the sewing, I do have 2 small JoAnn's though, and some Wal-Marts. For fabrics I agree that I like Fashion Fabric Club (love the swatches!), same with Sew Baby (http://www.sewbaby.com/). To be able to touch & feel the fabric is important to me. Notions I order from Nancy's, Clotilde, and Beacon Fabric & Notions (http://). Beacon has a great selection of notions, zippers, needles, embroidery stabilizers, etc., and I've had great response from them. And although I don't get swatches regularly I also have used & can recommend - Denver Fabrics (http://www.denverfabrics.com/), Fabric.Com (http://www.fabric.com/), and Wazoodle (http://www.wazoodle.com/). I've ordered from all of them, not affiliated, just been a happy customer!
