Hi all!

I need help. My husband just started a new job and he had a
401(k) plan there. I am responsible for getting his old plan transferred to a new one, but I don't know how to do this. I don't really understand everything about it (being young and never having to deal with it before). Can someone please help?

chilogod you need to get in contact with the plan administrator at your husband's former place of employment and they should have all of the instructions for taking care of the transfer.

You might not necessarily have to transfer the plan, though. We have 401K money through my husband's former employer, and have kept it there because it earns more than his current 401K.

Just a thought.

Good suggestion Raine. I had forgotten about that option. There again, the plan administrator is the one that will have that information and can discuss the best options with you and your dh.
