When sitting at your sewing machine and you drop your twin needle in your lap, don't slam your legs together to try to keep it from falling on the floor!

Or when they fall dont drop your head to see where it went with out pushing your chair fully away from the table and if you do make sure you have enough ice on hand.
The more you disaprove, the more fun I am having!

After you drop your glue gun when crafting, don't sit down on chair until you make sure there is no hot glue on it.

Well, I'm glad to see I'm not alone in my antics in the sewing room

And, never use a beautifully manicured fingernail to shove a little bit of extra fabric under the presser foot, unless you want to start the trend of hole punched nails.

If you set a hot iron on the floor to adjust the ironing board cover, make sure it's far enough away so that when you bend down your leg doesn't touch it. I had a hard time explaining how I got a 3rd degree burn on my leg from an iron!! Even my family doctor who was used to my weird antics thought that one took the cake. I've decided to live forever - so far, so good.

It's also a bad idea to drop a hot iron onto carpet that is polyester blend. When the carpet melts, it sticks to the iron. The moral of the story is, get wool carpet or wood floors. I have wood now. When I drop the iron it does make a ding in the floor, but it just adds to the "distressed" or "shabby chic" look, depending on what decorating show you're watching.

One time I was sitting on the edge of the bed sewing a button back onto a shirt. When I finished, I forgot that I had the scissors in my lap and just hopped up quickly. The scissors hit the floor, handles first and points up, followed by my foot. That REALLY hurt. I had to pull them out. Never put your scissors in your lap. A friend of mine learned that you should never leave your scissors on your couch while you run to do something else. She sat on them when she came back. At least it was the back of her leg that found them. |

My worst moment was when sewing the bedding for my first baby. I was ironing a seam and used the shot of steam on my iron and burned my large belly through my shirt. My obstetrician found it very amusing. |
