Hello!

I am trying to make a traditional navy blue wool sailor suit, and am not sure what material I should use to create the three white stripes which line the edge of the square sailor's collar (is there a name for this type of collar?)

The material almost seems like white rick rack but not curved or fancy, just straight.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

There's also a narrow trim called "soutache" if you can find it.
