It works great , too.. I just finished using it to make enough binding for 6 place mats... Ive finished 3 of them, got 2 more to bind, 1 more to machine quilt and bind. They are looking really good to me.. I'm really proud of the way they are turning out.. About the bias, I started with a 20 inch square and it made about 9 yards of binding cut 2 inches wide. (after folding and pressing, 1 inch wide)..It was so much easier than I thought it would be..

Thanks ladies... I will check into that.. I have one that you coil up.. but for the life of me, I could not get the lines to match up.. I am making tote bags for Xmas gifts and it requires yards of bias binding.. Heck I almost tossed it all off & going out to purchase the plain stuff in a package... I will try it... Thanks again and again Karen Karen

I learned the same SWN method in an upholstery class I took. It works fabulous! I made a zillion yards that I filled with rope and to use as trim around all the cushions. In reading the SWN article, I realized that I have tons of fleece scraps that I could turn into bias for quilt trims -- has anyone done this with the fleece? Did the folds iron in okay? I need to look at some packaged fleece binding... I make lots of baby quilts and that would be a fun way to bind one if it works. Inspiring article! Thanks Linda |
