What other hobbies do you have? Other than needlework.

I am getting very interested in antique dolls. I have one I am dressing now for Christmas. She is stuffed with sawdust and has a composite face and hands. She has lost her hair, poor dear so I will make her a big puffy bonnet.

I would love to know her history. I found her at an auction.

Does anyone else have hobbies? I know Joanne works with miniatures.

Hobbies....

Raising my boys Im not to good at it yet but There are going to be gentelmen.

I do screen printing.

I know you said other then sewing but doing the costumes for the school play is incredible. It is not a chore it is fun. they give you ideas of what they want then they give you a budget that would not even feed the guys for a week and say go for it. I love it. I shop the thrift stores for fabric. I wheel and deal at wal mart to get discounts even on the $1.00 bin. I have so much fun and the deadline adds to it. usally 30-45 costumes in less then a month. I am an adreniline junky.
The more you disaprove, the more fun I am having!

When I have the facilities I love to do pottery and sculpture. That is may first love. I also enjoy rubber stamping. I like to paint and draw a little. Off and on I get into making window clings with Gallery Glass Paints. I really enjoyed candle making back in high school but haven't done much since because I am afraid of the hot wax around my little ones. I used to do a lot of calligraphy but now with the computer I can get it done a lot faster and prettier so I don't bother. I am sure that I have left something out as I have been an artist/crafter all my life. Mom said I wouldn't stop sculpting my mashed potatoes so she bought me some modeling clay and I haven't stopped since.

I am definitely a multi-crafter. Besides all the sewing and different needlework, tole painting is probably my favorite but I also bead (made beaded African Nbedele dolls), do clay work, make jewelery, make soft sculptured dolls (love the idea of yours Mary), scrapbooking, and just other general crafts.
I love embellishing so I will never win a stash contest. I am currently making Christmas stockings but as usual I have to embellish them. My kids tell me I don't make crafts, I do individual works of art. :Canada:
I've decided to live forever - so far, so good.

I forgot I do beadwork too. I make cute little animals. Haven't done that in since we were in Germany. I used to invite the teenage girls who lived down stairs to my house so we could bead together. I was so "cool".

I've done just about anything as a hobby...cake decorating (which turned into a business) designing invitations (which turned into a business) designing rubber stamps (which almost turned into a business..I decided it took too much time) I crochet, embroider by hand, paint almost anything. String art, mosiacs, origami, plastic models (monsters as a kid and ships as an adult).
I like to garden inside (or out when I can). I like woodworking...
too many hobbies and sooooo little time.....:bg:

I've got into watercolours more and more - and now I'm teaching a couple of 11 year old boys it makes it all the more fun! I have enjoyed clay - exhibited a dragon in London,Cardiff and Edinborough - looks like you Chrys! Played with calligraphy, "making stuff" just about sums it up. I bought myself a chinese brush painting kit as a present - I love the calligaphic images and economy of line
so I'm attempting that. I want to make paper. I like decorating.
I just wanna make stuff!

I think if its been out there i have tried it --

rubber stamping - which i gave to my nieces; scrapbooking -- which is still in the works; aluminum and copper work -- still trying to work this one but having a hard time finding supplies for what grandma gave me; leather tooling; making tin can furniture (my grandfathers tools); latch hook; braided rugs; rag rugs - wish i cld paint but i draw a real good crooked stick man and i m a very good tracer :bg:

those i enjoy -- but my love is fabric and fiber --

knitting, crocheting, tatting, needlepoint, petitpoint, cross stitch, crewel, hand embroidery, brazillian, fancy stitching, hardanger (personal favorite), sewing, quilting, machine embroidery using my own pattern and hands for the drawing, heirloom, cutwork, blackwork, some beading (for embellishment only), quilted wall pictures

am also trying to learn to make laces -- i have a seat to learn from a bobbin lace master (hopefully this summer) and needle lace from various regions of europe, knotted lace, romanian lace

just so much to learn and make and not enough hours in a day
