I am cheap, very, very cheap. I have been looking on the internet for a pattern to sew mens ties. Anyone know of any place that has them? Thanks

I got a free on at Hanncock. Was just looking one day and it jumped out at me. At our Hanncock they have a rack with free stuff on it mostly just quilt blocks but sometimes they have other stuff.

Go to a Thrift store and buy an old one and take it apart and make your pattern from that.. just be sure to mark the bias because ties are cut on the bias .. I used to make them years ago.. I bought a Butterick pattern, Back then, all the pattern companies had a tie pattern out.. Pay close attention to all the parts you take out of the one you are taking apart, you will need all those pieces to make a good tie..

Thanks people! I like the idea of using an old tie. I do not know why I didn't think of it.. I love the boards here becasue so many nice people are always willing to share their knowledge and skills.

I couldn't bring myself to cut up a good tie and also my hubby's are the wide ugly ties.

I got a pattern from Kwik sew. it had a pattern for fat ties and the skinny ties for men and boys. it was 6.00 but I have used it many times.
The more you disaprove, the more fun I am having!
