I have a pattern that calls for knit fabric for the shirt, but the pants suggest cottons, denim, etc. I'm o.k. right now with the shirt because I have the knit fabric, however I want to make the pants with the knit fabric also. How do I do this?

Patterns that are intended for woven fabrics have more ease than patterns intended for knits. So one possibility would be to cut the pants one size smaller than usual.

The other possibility is just go ahead and cut them the normal size and be prepared to take them in a bit if that turns out to be looser than you want.

Yup, unless the knit is very drapey and loose, I just cut my usual size. They are almost always quite fine. :bg:

Thanks, I will try your suggestions. One good thing about it is that I have a 4 year old and a 3 year old, so I will make the 3 year olds first by cutting the usual size for her and if its too big I could possibly give that one to my 4 year old.
