Does anyone else have "senior moments"?? I went to draw some money out of the cash machine and I couldn't remember my p.i.n. number - my mind just went blank! Luckily I got my card out of the machine - but no money!!

Is it a UK thing? I did the same - I could remember it the next day...
I forgot it completely once after we had beeen to france for 2 weeks, the effort of speaking french destroyed my ability to remember it and I had to get them to send it to me again.. eesh.
I rarely use the cash machine 'cos I get money out at Tesco's now or swipe stuff so it is less used and more easily forgotten.

I only forget words in the middle of talking to someone....usually it's the annoying small often used words, that escape me...

::heavy sigh:: sometimes I forget how to type...:whacky:

I also make shopping lists, because my memory is so bad - and then I forget to take it!! I keep telling myself" you are not losing it, you just have a lot on your mind...."

I will be in the middle of making an important point to someone and totally lose my train of thought. Boy, does that make me mad. :bang:

Its the way you get to a room and think "why am I here?" and have to go back to where you first had the thought about needing tp get something to remember what it is that you were going to do.

As I get older I can see I'm going to be bouncing from room to room chasing the elusive thought around the house and all I wanted to do was go to the loo...

I do that too! I go upstairs for something - get to the top and can't remember why I went up. I'll stop and try and think what I went up for and then give up and go downstairs again. Soon as I get down, guess what? I remember what it was!!!!!

The only good thing about this is I work with people with dementia and I can relate to how awful it is to forget things
( although they are much worse than me - well up to now anyway!!)

Don't you just hate those senior moments. I can identify with every posting. Hubby and joke that we need each other some days just to survive as only half of each of our brains seem to be working. Oh well, they say as long as you know you are having a senior moment you're not really in trouble...it's when you think your normal and everyone else knows you're not, is when you have a problem.

:Canada:

You know what's really scary, most politicians are over 55 and they are the ones running our countries and making world decisions and if they're like us...well no wonder the world is in such a mess!!
I've decided to live forever - so far, so good.

i think my generation can all blame the cordless phone and the tv remote industries!!! i think my senior moments began when i got my first tv remote then the cordless phones really did me in!!! but to their defense, it might be my brain!!! cause i can't remember half of what i'm doing half the time!!! :bluewink: :bluewink: and i can relate to all of you, the steps, up and down just drive me nuts!!!

I make a list when I'm going to the store for more than 3 items. Last time, a new shower curtain and box of Kleenex were the MAIN reasons, but I had 4 or 5 other items on the list. I forgot to pull the list out and check it before leaving the store and got EVERYTHING on my list EXCEPT the shower curtain and Kleenex.

I had to go into work today .. know the way there.. or maybe the car does...

prior to my trip into that fond place that pays me for working my butt off (no punnDs off the butt intended), I packed a peanut butter and jelly sandwich... put it in my "bag"...

Was only going to spend 3 hours (tops) at work.. it was more like 6 hours!!! anyway.. I thought WOW.. I am hungry.. I looked for that dang peanut butter thing for 3 minutes.. the phone rang.. I forgotaboutit!!!

On the way home, I stopped to get gas for the car.. since the price is going UP UP ... I reached into my purse for the "card" to my bank account and what do I pull out.. that peeee nuttish bread thing...

ATE it for dinner.. now where is that bank card????

Karen..

Peanut butter sandwich must have been scary by the time you got to eat it
Yesterday Idrove a friend out to a town about 10 miles away to deliver a package, arrived home a couple of hours later ,went to look in the back seat for my purse----not there, panic time had to call a couple of places & finally tracked it down ,had to drive out this A.M.to pick it up cause it was too stormy last night.I was so mad @ myself ,didn't remember bringing it in with me.
