Hi Again, I am purchasing the things I will need for quiting and I was wondering what feet and such I will need. I have a darning foot (although I'm clueless as to how to use it), I will be buying a walking foot, and I'm sure I'll probably need more. My Birthday is also coming up on the 13th and my hubby needs a list of things he could get me. I think I'll send him with a list of feet and a picture of each. I'm sure with the help of a sales clerk he'll get the right kind. They usually just take the list out of his hands and fill the buggy for him LOL! Thanks for any suggestions. - Wendy |

A darning foot can be used when you do free-motion quilting. The one that came with my machine doesn't work too well, I'm much happier using a BigFoot. The walking foot is very popular, and can help solve a few problems when doing straight-line quilting. A quarter-inch foot is invaluable for piecing, keeps us right on track for the perfect seam allowance[depending on how the foot is made, you can shift your needle position to the left or right and get different seam allowances, should you need to] Good luck, and enjoy. |

Happy Birthday! Got to spend mine this year in the hospital for about a week. Hope yours was much better. An edge stitch foot would be good for quilting as well as a straight stitch foot. JMHO as I'm not a quilter. Happy Stitching! Marty

Thanks for the Birthday wishes! I spent my B-day wraping Christmas presents for the kids. The looks on their faces as we put them under the tree made my day! For presents, I received a walking foot, quilt wizard, edge joining foot, satin stitch aplique foot, 1/4" foot, and a hemmer foot. Can't wait to try them. Thanks to everyone - Wendy |

Great gifts Wendy. I got a new set of Gingher scissors after getting out of the hospital. The 6 inch shears, the pinking shears, the applique ones and embroidery scissors. I already had the Dressmaker shears and the thread nips. With about 3 more pair, I'll have the entire line. For Christmas, I gave DH a list of feet for my serger including the part number so all he has to do is call the dealer and place his order for me. Also gave him a list of sewing books, and other VIP items like Digital camera, extra memory card for embroidery machine. Just the essentials ... Marty It takes one moment to change a life.
