Maybe this is only a grip but someone might be able to shed some light on it.

I am makeing a baby wardrobe for a friend and why do baby patterns have pockets . What is a 6 month old or a 1 yr old have to put in pockets.

How about the little lines when cutting out the pattern especially on multi sized. On some if you are off by a smidget you are fine and then on others you have to toss the garment cause it just wont line up.

And when adding ribbing do you sew the cuff in a loop first and then attach to the sleeve or do you sew the arm sleeve all the way down including the ribbing.
The more you disaprove, the more fun I am having!

Wow, you are a good friend to be sewing baby clothes for a friend!!

I don't know why they have pockets in baby clothes. I guess it just adds to the cuteness of the finished product. I wouldn't bother with them!

If your pieces don't line up, just give an extra little tug or put a little tuck in one piece. They grow out of baby clothes so quickly, I wouldn't strive for perfection! Close is good enough. :bg:

For ribbing, usually it is sewn in a circle and then sewn to the garment. I have had a pattern or two that had directions to sew the ribbing on and then sew the side seam. If it's done that way, you have to be careful it looks good at the end of the seam.

Happy Sewing!

A baby cuff would be very small, so I would sew the unfolded cuff to the sleeve, then sew the sleeve/cuff seam, then fold the cuff up towards the inside and finish it by hand. I just wouldn't want to tangle with 'sewing in the round' of the little tiny cuff.
Take care,
