how about taking quilt blocks names and scrambling the letters and see if they can decipher them ie-- rndiefpihssrat = friendship star how about a basket or large jar and put different sizes of spools of thread and bobbins and have a guessing game or with buttons how about having them say which quilt block represents them and why have them spell out words like CHRISTMAS, yuletide, happy holidays etc using quilt block names and techniques or anything related to quilting ie c is for crazy quilt block h is for homespun fabrics etc etc and then have fun sharing and laughing and the "oh i shd have known that one" give each lady a number as they walk in and have something corresponding to it like #5 has to start all her sentences with the letter "B" and #8 has to say oh my my after the word quilt is said each time those are just a few i can think of -- they are silly but its all in fun stitchin' up a storm

Everyone has a post-it on their back with the name of a block on it - you have to find out what yours is by asking people and they are only allowed to answer Yes or No. eg Is it set on point No, does it have triangles, yes
