Does anyone have any holiday tips for home decorating, keeping calm or easy gifts or craft items?

I have a couple.

You know those little postage stamp size photos we all have of our kids. Glue them to a gift tag and watch the receiver smile.:bluesmile Especially grandparents, aunts and uncles.

For kids that cant read yet that would be great to put on thier presents so they dont open others gifts.

My best holiday tip is to allow the kids to spend Christmas day at home with thier gifts. It is not fair to let them open thier gifts and then tote them from place to place. Also choose one palce for Christmas Eve. If it is one Grandma then if the other one is bent she can come to your house in the morning and next year you can spend Christmas Eve there and do the switch.

Dont break you neck running from house to house, engagemet to function. Choose the most important and forget the rest.

Dont forget to get your self something for all the work that no one sees behind the sceanes. Last year I got a hot chocolate maker. Some have iced tea or coffee I have hot chocolate.
The more you disaprove, the more fun I am having!

I agree, the kids should be home with their new toys. Who wants to travel from house to house.

I remember one year the neighbors kids came over to our house one Christmas morning and stayed all day with our kids. There was definitely something amiss there.

too welcoming Mary? Better cookies? arguements at home....
When I was little we always had to wait to open our presents until we had heard the Queens speech to the nation. ( broadcast at 3pm?) My dad was an Army cook so he had to feed the lads theri Christmas dinner before he got home to his own so we waited until he was home. And then it was time for the Queen. My Mum and dad used to make us stand up when the National Anthem was played. It still seems weird to me to open them before then but Tony was used to tearing into his at 4 am. I still choke up when I hear the Queen

My tip, have a meal off for good behaviour - eat when you are hungry not because you haven't had a meal for 3 hours..
love and kisses, Jan

Here is a neat recipe. My friend in Ontario sent it to me. LOL.

MY KIND OF COOKIES.

Here is how to make my favorite Christmas Cookies......... Christmas
Cookie Ingredients:

1 cup of water
1 tsp baking soda
1 cup of sugar
1 tsp salt
1 cup of brown sugar
lemon juice
4 large eggs
1 cup nuts
2 cups of dried fruit
1 bottle Jose Cuervo Tequila

Sample the Cuervo to check quality.
Take a large bowl, check the Cuervo
again, to be sure it is of the highest
quality, pour one level cup and drink.

Turn on the electric mixer...Beat one
cup of butter in a large fluffy bowl.

Add one teaspoon of sugar...Beat again.
At this point it's best to make sure the
Cuervo is still OK, try another cup ...
just in case.

Turn off the mixerer thingy. Break 2
leggs and add to the bowl and chuck in
the cup of dried fruit, Pick the
frigging fruit off floor... Mix on the
turner. If the fried druit gets stuck
in the beaterers just pry it loose with
a drewscriver. Sample the Cuervo to
check for tonsisticity.

Next, sift two cups of salt, or
something. Who giveshz a sheet. Check
the Jose Cuervo. Now shift the lemon
juice and strain your nuts. Add one
table. Add a spoon of sugar, or
somefink. Whatever you can find. Greash
the oven.

Turn the cake tin 360 degrees
and try not to fall over. Don't forget
to beat off the turner. Finally, throw
the bowl through the window, finish the
Cose Juervo and make sure to put the stove in the dishwasher.

CHERRY MISTMAS !,

What to get for that person who has everything?

Your time.

Spend a day dedicated to that person. Actually talk and find out what has been going on in their lives. You might have an entirely new attitude or outlook when the day is done. Make an effort to look them in the eye and be really interested in what they have to say. The recipient will always remember your day together and the fact that you cared enough to spend time with them.
