Good Morning! Now, inquiring minds want to know what did you get for Christmas to enhance, help, or make sewing a lot more fun? I lucked out big time ... a new Pfaff 4874 10 thread serger, serger needles, a couching/braiding foot for my serger plus a serger pintuck foot. Also received a gift card from Hancock Fabrics, a book on Basic Techniques for Machine Embroidery, two Dakota Design CDs and a Minolta digital camera so I can post photos of my sewing projects. I felt as if I had hit the jackpot with the lottery (not legal in our state until 2004). The best gift is a visit from my mom who lives over 700 miles away. It's been almost 8 years since we had a visit together so this is special. Fess up now ... what was in your Christmas stocking? Marty It takes one moment to change a life.

I got an edge foot for my machine. It should come in handy with all the applique I do. And I got a new cd player for my car. Dorothy |

Some sergers come with a coverstitch, (but you have to convert the machine) Mine has two or three needles on top with one looper on the bottom -- kinda similiar result as using a twin needle but it covers more on the bottom. No blade like a serger - it does not cut the fabric. I mainly wanted it for finishing seams (cuz I cannot do that to save my life), and for decorative stitching purposes. REALLY good price too (under 150) Ken's sew & vac in AL. Really friendly people at that store. Kevin spent 15 minutes with me on the phone long distance trying to figure out what was wrong.
