There are quite a few on this site with aging parents.

Here are ten signs that they may need more attention or a change in living arrangements.

1. If you are worried for their well-being, they probably need help.

2. Bruises or other signs of trauma from falls or difficulty navigating around the house.

3. Blackened pots (lol, that's me) or other danger to their surroundings.

4. Unexplained weight loss.

5. Untidy home and laundry or dishes piled up.

6. Unopened mail.

7. Fewer invitations to their home or a change in visit patterns.

8. Change in communication quality or frequency.

9. Exterior of home is less well maintained than in the past.

10. Less active lifestyle and tendency to stay at home alone.

It's not time to panic but maybe you could just be a little more aware if and when you see some of these signs. I think aging parents often feel forgotten.

I found this list in our local paper and thought it was quite good.

Several of those describe my in-laws. It seems like they've both really aged the past couple of years. They used to be so active. They can't do half as much as they could last year. FIL just turned 80. Neither one drives anymore.
Luckily, we live close so we can check on them daily.
