Okay, we went to the store and boght a pattern and the froggy fabric that Alyssa fell in love with -- should I wash the fabric before I start sewing? When I do quilting I always prewash, but I wasn't sure about sewing!

Yes kids fabrics need to be durable and not shrink so wash and dry.

Yes, always pre-wash. I speak from experience when I say you will be so upset if you make a garment and it shrinks the first time you wash it...yikes...not fun.

yes and let me give you another reason why you should wash it. i never washed for years and years and one day i was working with a newly bought, unwashed fabric and i broke out in a rash from it. talk about itchy. the back of my hands and arms were red and bumpy!

NOW i prewash!
