Hello Everyone,

What I want to know is can metal bobbins be used in a computerized sewing machine? I ordered bobbins thinking they were plastic and when I received them they were metal. I am afraid to use them until I know for sure.
Thanks :nc:

Is your bobbin drop-in or front loading? I have been told to NEVER use a metal bobbin in a drop-in bobbin case because of the scratches it can leave and also because the case is magnitized and a metal bobbin can cause loss of stitch quality.

As for computerized, I don't know that is makes a difference, but I stick with plastic bobbins in my drop-in (horizontal) and use metals in front-loading or side-loading cases (vertical) only.

My machine has a drop in bobbin, I didn't think I should use them I am glad I ask. I will throw them away and buy plastic ones, better safe than sorry. Thanks sew serious for the info.
