This worked out pretty good. I put my dog in the front yard with a scoccer ball , a pot of flowers, and a little girl looking out the upstairs window.
Since I am called MRS.O at work by all the kids ..I put a MRS. O sign above the front door. Thanks for all your help and ideas.

I'm working (again...now that I am through moving...) on my house block quilt. There's a block for each month. The house on each is the same basic shape, but each month is indicated by the rest of the block and the houses are all different fabrics and details and windows are different designs. I put snow on the January one with a cactus plant for Texas; and February has a mailbox with hearts falling out of it; March has a leprechaun with his pot of gold; April has an Easter basket; May has a Maypole; June has a wheelbarrow with pots of plants; July is the Fourth of July; August is a beach house with a boat tied up at a pier and macrame' fishnets; September the house is red and has a school bell; October has a witch flying on her broomstick across a big yellow moon and the house is dark. I am now working on the November block which will have a turkey; and the Christmas block will likely have a Santa or Christmas tree. It's for one of my daughters. Marilynntx

Hey Marilyn, must be the ones on HGTV. My friend is making them too. They are so cute. How is the weather there. We are going to tenn. and alabama this weekend. Have fun sewing.!!!

Yes, it was inspired by HGTV, but I changed it up a lot. I didn't like their rather juvenile idea of 'primitive.' I figure any pioneer woman could manage to draw windows and doors that weren't lopsided, etc. My houses are simple, but have straight lines!

I also wanted each month identifiable without my having to name them, so I used readily recognizable symbols (snow, hearts, leprechaun, etc) in each block. I do freemotion embroidery (I sell a book about it on the net) and draw all my own designs. I've had a lot of fun with this quilt, which is only the second one I've ever made. The first was a picture quilt, The Owl & the Pussycat...in their pea-green boat with a pot of honey and the pig with the ring in its nose. I put all those designs in my book! MariLynntx
