I don't have a picture of them... and I mean as in two doll's dresses... I will see if my DH will put a picture on line if I take it of the Red dress...my mother inlaw has the wedding gown one ...you even do the old fashion hair due on them and make there little Shoes... with the cotton... and dip them in stiffener and put them on there feet ... it's fun watching them come together...
I have two many craft's but not enough time for them ...putting the beads on the cotton... takes the time...There realy very pretty.

I have a lot of pattern's but only made the two... one day I will do another one... I have Lady Diane in the white pearl suit ...I will do her next .

I have so many ideas running thru this little noggin and I really do not have the time to elaborate on any one of them... but heck I try....

Here is what I would really like to know... crocheting beads.... I went to a bead show and WOW.. Years ago, I did quite a bit of macrame (sp).. and I love the look.. with JUTE not yarn...

Now.. what I would love to know is WHAT do I need to start this venture??

Another thing that I want to do is put together a quilt accenting it with beads and fiber.. (such as ribbon , leather strips , jute.. etc) .. any recommendations?

Is there a book or pamplet (sp) out there that can guide me.. I did crochet ions ago.. I also knit (as a matter of fact I have a sweather that I started in 1985 that only needs one arm)...

I would love to see your works of art...

I love beading too and recently made an African Nbebela doll that was beaded and one of dtrs liked it so much she wants me to make one for her. Right now I have a fairy half made and I will be adding beads to her outfit too. Two of my dtrs are incredible beaders but they usually make jewelery. One made the other a beautiful spiral beaded necklace out of semi-precious stones for her to wear at her wedding and that one made me a beaded butterfly. Very talented kids. What I do is really simple compared to them. I recently saw a sunflower wallhanging that was heavily beaded in the centre and what a difference it made to the one beside it that had not been done. Go for it!!

Bren --
Can I get directions from you on the shoes? Maybe I can adapt the tiny Barbie feet shoes to fit my big footed 15 inch fashion doll. Shoes are always an issue. I use polymer clay for shoes.

I am trying to understand the different types of "art" that can be done with everything I enjoy to work with..

I appreciate what everyone has advised.

Thanks

Back in the early 70's (does this make me prehistoric...or just a flower child) we crocheted rings with beads in them. We used a stretch (shiny) cording and slipped the beads on first..then crocheted a base and then chained the beads into the top, pulling them down into the base . I had seen simular things done on clothing...you just decide how many beads you might need and carry them on the yarn or crochet thread and then chain them into the product. You need to slip them on first because if you don't you'll have to put the yarn (or whatever) through the beads and usually the center of the bead isn't big enough. You also don't want to have to break your thread very often to put the beads on the string. I hope this answers your question? I actually made these and sold them while I was in college.

Add me to the shoe and beading list please Bren. I love making dolls and could use some help with the shoes.
