You hear so much in the way of terrorism, war, crime, etc. in the news. It is refreshing to see something nice reported once in a while.

Joan B. Kroc, wife of the founder of the McDonald's empire, donated $1.5 billion :shock: to the Salvation Army last year when she passed away.

Mrs. Kroc also gave a bunch of money (I can't remember how much, it was in the millions) to PBS. She's also given money to some colleges...she did some nice things while alive and kept it up after her death...

That is so wonderful that she chose to share her forture, but if the rich don't share it with charity or some worthy cause they have to pay our government plenty of it so it's best to do it that way.
