Does anyone know an online site where I could find a pattern for a cummerbund and/or bow tie? My cousin has asked me to make 2 children's sets and 1 adult for a one time and toss use from fabric on it's way in the mail?

There are instructions for a child's bowtie in the Singer Sewing for Children. I'm sure that it could be modified for larger sizes.

I made one for my son one time...just a fabric bow(interfaced and lined) with an elastic through the back to go around his neck. The shirt collar hid the elastic, and the elastic ensured that it stayed on with a not-too-tight fit.

As for the cummerbund, perhaps you could design one yourself, based on a picture. I don't think it would be very difficult. Just make one up in scrap fabric first to see how it would work.

I made one(for a costume) once, and drew the shape I wanted. I put a couple of horizontal pleats, added a backing and interfacing/lining, and used velcro for a closure. It worked fine for that...
Take care,
Donna

I used a kwik sew pattern. It was easy and fun. It also cost about 7.00
The more you disaprove, the more fun I am having!
