South east, near Cambridge the famous university city. My town is 45 mins ( or 13 miles ) away, aprox 14000 inhabitants and mentioned in the Domeday book. Last year, (Jan 31) we Had Snow, 5 inches in one day, the gritting lorries didn't go out until after it had settled so people were stuk in their cars for up to 2 days... Hubby took 6 hours to get home from work. 13 miles!!!!! love and kisses, Jan

It's more than chilly here. Wind chill was just above zero so I had recess duty this morning. We had the Alberta clipper yesterday and got a snow day. the snow hill from the plow in our driveway is so tall. The kids are loving it. It has snowed a bit every day, so it's very deep. Love that lake effect snow from Lake Michigan. |

There was a picture on the front page of this morning's paper of a guy shoveling 38 inches of snow (fell in 24 hours) off the roof of his house. We are about 50 miles south and miss the lake effect. The sun shone all day here. Temp below 0* F though. The snow is about two feet deep out there. I noticed when I put the pup out just now that my husband shoveled her a little maze in the back yard. I wonder if he put cheese at the end. Jan, they call 5 inches a dusting around here. And it's cold. I'm so glad we got a new gas furnace this year. The old oil thing we had was older than my daughter that is in law school now and cost a fortune to run every year. With the new one they added an extra register in my sewing room so I stay in here all day. My mother in law is flying to Florida this morning. I want to go too, but not with her! Dorothy |

Here in central Kentucky we are coated in ice. Had an ice storm today and daughter with 3 month old just called and said power was out there. Kentucky weather is strange. High today is right below freezing with ice all around. Tomorrow it will be in the 40's. I'd much rather have snow than ice. |

Here I sit, with a million UFO's calling to me. I work for Pittsburgh Public Schools and start at 6am. I made it safely after 6 inches of snow fell through the night and found out at 7:15 that the superintendent, bless his heart...GRRRRRRRRR cancelled school. I am so proud of myself, I cleaned my bathroom first, and NOW to getting MY red and white quilt blocks sewn together...finally. Have a great day everyone and keep warm!!

Ok Gals, read it & drool. Mary is in my town now, Naples, Florida. Today it's 78 !!! A real nice gentle breeze coming off the water. I have all the windows open. Snow is beautiful but sooo cold. To be honest, we do get some cooler weather at times but not as cold as up north. Just had to let you know the temp today. Theresa |

We are having bad weather here.. It did not get to 30 f today here, and we have snow and freezing rain covering the ground.. I went out my front door earlier , intending to get my mail but my steps were solid ice about 2 inches thick, so I came back inside and DS went to the mailbox for me..I sure do not want to fall .. I know too many friends who break hips at my age when they fall..We do not have very many days that stay below freezing all day long... Wish I was in Naples with Mary..

Early morn will be in the 30's.So probably won't get but in the 60's or low 70's. Don't know how long Mary is to be here but hope she has some great weather while here. I'd have loved to have met her but didn't want to horn in on her plans. Theresa |
