I am fairly new to sewing or should I say I am starting to sew again and hopefully get it right this time. I am wondering what stores have the best fabric? I have mostly been getting it at JoAnn's but really have to watch what I get. Today I grabbed some at Walmart for $1.00 a yard to make a child's apron out of, but am just curious where you buy it from.

To buy THE BEST fabric I go to a quilt store...or here online.
It may cost more, but 'I' think it's worth it....

I buy most of my fabric online as there is only Walmart and a couple of mill end stores here in my town. Hancock's is about 30-40 minutes away and JoAnn's is over an hour. I work full-time, so I don't get to either one very often.

I use http://www.fabric.com http://fashionfabricsclub.com http://www.fabricclub.com most often. There are many others, but those should get you started. I suggest buying the best quality material you can afford. You will get better results. Oh, and quilting shops are great for cottons and cotton blends, but if you want anything else, you will have to go elsewhere.

Chrysantha has a wonderful list of fabric sites here on one of the boards. I should get them brought up again so everyone can see them.
