I have just purchased Dress Shop 5. I need to make not only clothes for myself but also shirts for my husband. He has a special problem that makes it impossible for me to buy clothes for him RTW. He has an unusual nerve problem in his neck that started several years ago. Any fabric that comes into contact within a 3-5 inch circumference of his neck causes terrible pain. He cannot wear cotton or silk. Only certain fabrics work--based on feel--but it cannot be any natural fabrics. Therefore it is difficult. I lucked up on some type of polyester knit at Wal-Mart for $2.00 a yard. I made up a raglan sleeve pajama top with the neckline cut 3 inches lower all the way around from the pattern's original neckline and it fit great and looked decent AND he can wear it. I am interested to know if anyone has used Dress Shop 5 to make men's shirts, etc. Linda Marie

Hi Linda Marie and welcome. If you post your question about Dress Shop 5 in the Pattern Making Forum you will probably get a lot of responses as they have been having an ongoing discussion about this particular software for sometime now. Patsy Patsy

I know it looks wierd to have MIA modeling the pattern you might use to make your hubby or son thier clothing but the patters do come out great. I have made shirts, tank tops, shirts and two costumes from it. I Also made a 5x jacket for a friend. they all fit great.
The more you disaprove, the more fun I am having!

I will re-post under pattern drafting. Didn't think of that. I also appreciate hearing that the pattern software works so well. It looks like a ton of fun. I am excited. Now if I can just find the time to sew... Have a great day! Linda Marie
