I recently bought some SS fabric and just love it to work with it, I have a question though. I bought the 24" wide role and I have a pattern piece wider than that, is there any way to splice this stuff together to work on a wider piece? I have virtually no room for storage as we are full time RV'ers. My home is a 37 1/2 ' Fifth wheel trailer with 3 slide outs. My sewing area is on a TV tray in front of my couch. I have a free standing kitchen cart that I clear off and extend both sides and I have a nice cutting out area. I have a table top ironing board. My husband is talking about taking out the table and chairs and putting in a sewing table for me. So anyway you can see my problem with getting too much stuff. As it is I have kinda taken over our living space with my sewing, but I just can't give it up. I would appreciate any suggestions, Jolene Jolene

You should be able to hand baste it. Cut a piece a bit bigger than the section you need to piece on, overlap the edges by half an inch, stitch a straight line within where it will be cut so you don't cut off the fastened ends. I do this pretty often even though I use the much wider pattern tracing cloth, just to recycle largish pieces. |
