I have just surpassed myself in making some yummy danish pastry (weinerbrod) to take to work tomorrow. the receipe came from a fellow teacher who lived in Austris for a while:
Sufficient for x2 7-8" pastries

Dough
250g plain flour (8oz)
100g butter/marg(3 1/2-4 oz)
25g yeast fresh is best, otherwise x2 tsps dried yeast ( just under an ounce fresh)
75mls milk (1/8 pint IMPERIAL)
2 teaspoons sugar
1 egg

Filling
100g butter/marg
100g brown or white sugar
10-20 drops vanilla or almond essence
10-21 raisins or sultanas or cherries or sliced almonds or apricots or all of them!
love and kisses, Jan
